HR Generalist

Location: Pasadena, CA
Pay Rate: $26-$30/hour

An established and well-respected organization is seeking an experienced HR Generalist with a strong background in payroll processing to join the HR team on a temporary- to hire contract assignment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys supporting employees, partnering with leaders, and ensuring compliance in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Process and administer payroll accurately and on time, including timekeeping, deductions, bonuses, and payroll adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee payroll, benefits, and HR-related questions in both English and Spanish
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including new hire paperwork and personnel file maintenance
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee education
  • Partner with managers on employee relations matters and provide day-to-day HR guidance
  • Maintain HRIS data, reports, and confidential personnel records
  • Support performance management, disciplinary actions, and compliance documentation
  • Assist with audits, policy updates, and special HR projects as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required
  • 2+ years of HR Generalist experience, including hands-on payroll processing
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Solid knowledge of employment law, wage and hour regulations, and HR best practices
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of discretion, accuracy, and attention to detail
